what would i need to only recieve aprs? would i still need all the same stuff like tnc & gps to only recieve? thanks.

All you need to recive APRS is a radio and a computer. It helps to have an audio cable, but you could even do it radio speaker to computer micropone. You just need some software like WinAPRS or UIView.

You may need a TNC to decode the packets. or the AGWPacket Engine program. No GPS is required to rx.

ok thanks. i got a rigblaster nomic to use with agw packet engine. do i need a gps even if my station isn't going to move? i guess. next thing on the list. anyway does anyone have a nj map for ui-view? thanks
